Short Description: The Georgia Client (Client), Office of Information Technology, is seeking a qualified candidate for the temporary contractor staffing position of IT Security Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia. Complete Description: The IT Security Project Manager will provide project management support and oversight for Client (Client) Security based projects. The position is administratively accountable to the Project Management Officer and operationally accountable to the Client Security Officer. The Security Project Manager works with software vendors, service providers, and business units to implement changes to the environment. These are generally small to large projects and represent a significant impact to the agency’s productivity and service delivery. Responsibilities: Under general supervision, manages and/or coordinates all tasks for medium and large-sized project(s) of moderate to high complexity and risk. Manages and/or provides project management consultation for all aspects of the project through the project management and software development life cycle. Works closely with the resource manager, vendor, business analysts, and subject matter experts on the various system support teams. Responsible for defining project plans, controlling project budgets, and managing risks to ensure successful delivery of security projects Manages project activities resulting from federal regulatory audits and inspections Job Duties: Meets regularly with key project stakeholders and teams to provide ongoing project level status reporting as requested for the IT Security and IT technical leadership teams. Directs project team members to take necessary action to achieve the goals and objectives of the project. Facilitate critical process assessments and redesign for process improvements. Work with the project steering committee and senior project management to resource project tasks. Work with senior PMO and quality assurance team to use established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives. Chairs, manages, or facilitates project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations. Ensure project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively. Develops time and cost estimates, project plans/schedules, and budgets. Oversees and controls ongoing costs, schedules, resources, scope, and risks. Manage scope by using a variety of data sources to support project negotiations related to time, cost, and/or quality. Develops, monitors and coordinates project activities, such as scheduling, tracking, and reporting; leads change efforts impacting own projects. Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts. Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule. Identify ways to resolve schedule issues. Keeps management aware of the situation. Assesses variances from the project plan, gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives. Conduct formal review with business sponsor at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction. Provide the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance. Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field or specialized training and three years of IT project management or equivalent IT team leadership experience. PMI PMP certification or equivalent Project Management certification Eight (8) years of experience leading projects of moderate to high complexity (occurring in the last 7 years). Minimum three (3) years experience in IT project management in security area (preferable in Public Sector) Experience in information security principles and standards such NIST 800-53, IRS Pub 1075 Hands-on advanced experience with MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint 2013, MS O365 and MSTeams Executive level written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience within the last 3 years leading/coordinating vendor managed projects Experience working in state government and or Health and Human Services Systems Experience working in an outsourced environment Knowledge of Cloud Security Concepts Required / Desired Skills: Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field or specialized training and three years of IT project management or equivalent IT team leadership experience.
