Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of OpenShift architecture, including design, development, and implementation across multi-cloud and multi-datacenter environments.
- Define, implement, and maintain OpenShift best practices, guidelines, procedures, and repeatable and scalable frameworks.
- Lead technical design sessions and make architectural decisions on product features.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining network configurations, database setups, and DevOps tools.
- Configure and manage OpenShift Container Storage (OCS)/OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for stateful workloads and data services across the platform.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and DevOps teams to ensure the optimal performance of the platform.
- Automate tasks whenever possible using scripts or other appropriate tools.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions across all platform components.
- Facilitate software and system performance tuning, and drive incident management, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery plans.
- Drive post-incident reviews and help to implement preventative measures.
- Ensure the high availability, disaster recovery, and backup procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Oversee all aspects of infrastructure, database, and network reliability, performance, and uptime.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in reliability and resilience across the organization, such as Chaos Engineering and error budgeting.
- Contribute to security and compliance efforts, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and stakeholders on OpenShift and container orchestration best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or other technical degree
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in deploying and managing large-scale OpenShift and Kubernetes environments is required.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Storage (OCS) and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF).
- 4+ years of experience developing within AWS environments and configuring AWS cloud services
- Must have hands-on experience deploying and securing federated & multi-tenant K8S clusters.
- Proficiency in GitOps principles and related tools, such as ArgoCD.
- Strong experience with configuration management and IaC tools, such as Ansible and Kustomize.
- Solid understanding of Docker, containers, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, and deployment using tools like Gitlab, Jenkins, and Bamboo.
- Familiarity with network setup and database configuration.
- Experience with Atlassian Data Center (including Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Bamboo)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl
- Proven ability to solve complex problems with an analytical mind.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts.
