Remote Tax Accountant

Job description:
Prepare and conduct first level review of Federal & State partnership tax returns
Perform the following functions:
o Calculate foreign tax withholding and prepare necessary tax forms
o Prepare quarterly tax estimates and year-end projections
o Prepare book to tax income reconciliation
Work with staff in the preparation of tax work papers and perform the following tax analyses including:
o Wash Sales
o Constructive Sales
o Straddles
o Market Discount
o Swaps bullet and NPC
o K-1 summary analyses
Collect and review documentation to support tax return filings
Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to determine proper tax treatment of issues
Analyze company financial statements
Qualifications:
2+ years of partnership tax experience with a main concentration either in hedge or private equity funds
Experience with aggregate allocations, layering would be a plus
Knowledge of foreign reporting requirements a plus
Solid MS Excel and GoSystems knowledge is required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Team player, ability to set priorities and direct team members accordingly, highly organized, attentive to detail and ability to multi-task
