Note: we are unable to hire in every state Summary: The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) plays a crucial role in the software development lifecycle by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites. An SDET will work closely with other members of agile delivery teams (Software Engineers, Test Engineers, Data Integration Engineers, etc.) to identify test requirements, create test plans, and execute test cases to validate the functionality, performance, and scalability of our software applications. Key Responsibilities: “To simplify complexities for each customer.” Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using industry-standard tools and technologies. Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, and business systems analysts to define test requirements and ensure adequate test coverage. Write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases that effectively validate software functionality, performance, and scalability. Execute automated and manual tests, analyze test results, and identify and report defects in a timely manner. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning meetings to provide input on testability, quality, and performance considerations. Continuously improve our test processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in software testing, test automation, and quality assurance. Qualifications/Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The following certifications are not required but helpful: ISTQB Certified Tester, ISTQB Agile Tester, Certified Professional Selenium Tester, Docker Certified Associate, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in java programming is required, including Spring Framework Proficiency in the use of Java-based libraries (Selenium, Rest Assured, Jest, Junit, etc.) is required. Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices Experience with containerization such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc. Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, etc.) Experience with data persistence technologies such as SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, etc. Experience with test generation tools such as YAML, Flyway, etc. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Strong understanding of both UI / API testing is required. Proven ability to create all types of tests including component/unit, integration, system, and acceptance. Strong communication skills needed to collaborate with other groups and engineers. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Agile Competency Requirements: Requires an understanding of the application of Agile development methodology. Must be comfortable with change, close collaboration, and have conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of or willingness to learn Agile / DevOps values.
