We are seeking a Senior Business System Analyst to join our team. We need a solid business analyst with experience in healthcare. The Business System Analyst will be responsible for understanding and interpreting business needs; assessing the business impact of those needs; capturing; analyzing, documenting requirements; and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders. The Business System Analyst will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to analyze and assess core business requirements, processes or procedures utilizing best business practices and current analysis techniques and methodologies. Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with end users/customers to understand and further develop requirements and translate requirements clearly into accurate technical requirements Serve as a key resource in decomposing and solutioning complex analytic requirements Maintain and update all requirements documents, ensuring adherence to business standards and best practices Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of limited business system enhancements documenting requirements, establishing scope and objectives, and determining strategy for implementing systems that achieve business goals Attend and facilitate client meetings with the purpose of establishing client relationship and ensuring complete understanding of business needs Prepare and/or review deliverables and enforce the approval process of deliverables to ensure that quality assurance processes are strictly followed Facilitate requirements meetings, as needed Possess excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business users in a clear and concise manner Collaborate with ETL developers, EDI technical analyst, Quality Assurance (QA) analysts, and Project Manager (PM) to ensure project requirements/requests for changes are understood and within standards Provide guidance to other team members regarding best/standard practices Provide guidance/assistance to team members where needed to help ensure issues are resolved by assigned due date. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of business and data analysis experience with Hospital Discharge data 5+ years of experience working with technical leads, programmers, and developers to translate requirements into system documentation, schematics, and change management content 5+ years of experience gathering technical/business requirements from the client/business and documenting 5+ years of experience in analysis of business process and workflow and providing an evaluation, benchmark and/or process improvement recommendations 5+ years of experience with good written, oral communication, presentation skills 5+ years of advanced experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) 3+ years of experience with EDI X12 transactions in the healthcare industry 3+ years of experience of research issues and cases to determine root cause and provide impact analysis for ongoing issues, changes, and requests for new functionality 3+ years of experience developing and writing Test Cases/QA 2+ years of experience with EDI trading partner on-boarding, relationship management and document tracking 2+ years of data analysis experience using informatica and basic/intermediate SQL querying Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines Proven to be proactive problem solver and critical thinker with excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills Proven good interpersonal skills, highly motivated and self-directed Preferred Qualifications: Experience in communicating analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally Experience using Oracle and Informatica Experience with NY Medicaid/Health Exchange data Experience with NYS commercial payer data Experience with Optum Transaction Validation Manager Experience in MS Project Solid working knowledge of data quality and master data management concepts Solid working knowledge of change management and incident management procedures and best practices Solid understanding of relational databases and database structures Working knowledge of data warehouse data structure type to insure accurate navigation of data issues that surface Familiar with data warehouse concepts, designs & ETL processes State Medicaid Data Warehouse or Medicaid Management Information Systems Proven ability yo problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually.
