Summary:

Responsible for data analysis in support of a variety of healthcare analytic solutions. Support performance improvement strategies and medical cost containment programs that directly impact the operational and financial performance of our Medicare (Medicare Advantage and CMS ACO) network. Create and produce forecasts, reports, ad-hoc requests, and dashboards, to support findings. Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders. Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis. Open to remote candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect, analyze, mine and help leverage the claims and operational data in existing data warehouse.

Participate in complex analysis projects and KPI reporting: identify best sources, extract data, interpret and analyze results; leveraging data from multiple sources. Collaborate with analytics team and others inside the organization to develop logic and data sets (SQL, Excel, Power BI) in support of business needs.

Perform deep dive data drilldown to identify root cause of medical trends and support decision-maker data needs.

Implement formulas that strengthen, streamline, and automate the management of an accurate and timely healthcare data warehouse solution.

Collaborate with other analysts and developers to translate health or operational data requirements into logical data sets, tools, and analyses.

Ensure reliability as data moves across the infrastructure.

Ensure confidentiality and professionalism is maintained when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Healthcare data analysis experience required.

Excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication abilities: verbal and written.

Strong knowledge and skills to work in a SQL data warehouse environment.

Demonstrated ability to analyze data and apply investigative skills in resolving issues.

Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to produce clear, written progress notes and supporting documentation.

Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in STEM, natural or social science, or healthcare field.

2 years of professional experience with claims-based healthcare analytics in a payer, provider, vendor, or consulting setting

Working knowledge of Medicare claims, episodic and conditional groupers and identifiers, Medicare risk adjustment, patient diagnosis, and cost-model development.

Strong analytical abilities with a track record of identifying insights from quantitative and qualitative data.

Prior work experience with provider or payer data warehouse (SQL) used to identify data sources, extract, transform, produce quantitative and qualitative analysis, interpret, report, and present in one or more of the following areas: claims-based analysis, population health, medical economics, or Medicare risk adjustment and/or quality (STARS).

4 years of relevant experience working with SQL, data warehousing and data management preferably within a healthcare environment

Intermediate skills with T-SQL temp tables, fact and dimension tables, derived tables, subqueries, and stored procedures

Advanced proficiency with Excel using PivotTables, linked worksheets, graphing and other reporting and presentation features.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
