Pratt & Whitney’s Digital Technology organization has a great remote opportunity for a Senior Manager, Cloud Architect who has demonstrated a successful track record for providing architecture guidance for cloud-based platforms for a set of analytics tools in large complex environments involving multiple outsourced vendor partners. What You Will Do: The Cloud Architecture Sr. Manager will work as an individual contributor on a cloud infrastructure enablement team, will be involved with the design, automation, implementation and management of cloud technology-based business solutions to advance our clients’ delivery approach, provide day to day guidance, coach and advise delivery teams on their development and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate for this position should have exceptional collaboration skills with expert-level understanding of cloud architectures, development and deployment tools and methodologies. This would best come from rich practical experience designing, developing and deploying cloud applications and end-to-end solutions. A key success criterion is the proven ability to build strong working relationships with Application, Business and Global Infrastructure/Operations teams for end-to-end service delivery, including compute, storage platform teams, Network Services and Service Excellence. It is imperative the DT organization not only support business operations but also aligns with future business goals, objectives and numerous process improvements. The Cloud Architecture Sr. Manager must develop an intimate understanding of the business issues and competitive challenges facing the Company. Reviewing, revising, and delivering architectural guidance for implementation of a cloud-based platform for a set of analytics tools. Contributing to and promoting governance processes for enhancement and sustainment of the cloud-based platform. Assisting in the development of solution architectures for new applications to run on the platform, ensuring these solution architectures meet the overall architectural vision. Acting as a liaison between the multiple business units who jointly implement and operate cloud capabilities across the corporation. Coordinating between cloud providers to ensure the right level of support and right mix of cloud utilization exists across environments. Establishing and collecting metrics to monitor development and delivery of the multiple solutions deployed on this cloud platform. Collaborating across the stakeholder landscape to ensure the platform is meeting, and will continue to meet, critical company goals. Acting as a thought leader operating within the Cloud Center of Excellence to help advance and drive Pratt & Whitney’s cloud journey. Participating in technology forums and town hall sessions, helping the Pratt & Whitney community understand the value and capabilities of this cloud-based platform. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology and 10+ years of experience in application, infrastructure, development and hosting, including 3+ years of experience in one or more cloud platforms; OR an Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology and 7+ years of experience in application, infrastructure, development and hosting, including 3+ years of experience in one or more cloud platforms. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship. Qualifications We Prefer: Industry vendor cloud certifications. Experience designing, building, and maintaining solutions in multi cloud platforms. Excellent knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps / GitLab. Strong background in Linux/UNIX administration. Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible. Developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar. Familiar with containers (Kubernetes, Docker etc.). Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (bash, PowerShell, Python). Knowledge of cloud monitoring and alerting services and capabilities. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
