Leveraging its success in integrating AI and ML into its platform, CivicScience seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead work that creates predictive models and forecasts for customers by using our exclusive database of 5+ billion consumer insights. Create Exponential Value CivicScience data scientists actively prototype new product concepts; so proficiency in Python and SQL, along with familiarity with open-source and cloud-based ML and data services are essential. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in using supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques to model our data, as well as a solid underpinning in statistical concepts. Reporting to the head of data science, this position can be based anywhere in Colombia, with in-person meetings in the United States several times per year and regular meetings in Bogota every few months. B2 or better oral and written English skills are required. Primary Responsibilities Design and implement advanced predictive models using machine learning and deep learning techniques Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, using statistical techniques Develop prototypes for new data products using Python and SQL Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate data-driven solutions into our products Lead projects and mentor junior data scientists to promote a culture of data-driven decision making Stay updated on the latest industry trends in data science and machine learning, applying best practices to our processes Identify new business opportunities and leverage data for value creation Requirements MS or PhD in data science, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or statistics 5+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on machine learning and deep learning in a commercial setting; startup experience, a plus Strong statistical analysis skills to understand and interpret petabyte-scale complex datasets and design experiments Innovative thinker with a track record of technology-driven problem solving Proficiency in Python and SQL; adept at learning new technologies Experience with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Flink, as well as cloud data platforms; experience building applications using generative AI, a plus Familiarity with market research, consumer data, or data consulting, a plus Oral and written English skills at B2 level or better Experience working as part of a globally distributed team Positive and proactive attitude, capable of finding creative solutions to overcome challenges Benefits and Perks Medical plan Unlimited PTO Educational opportunities Travel opportunities Based in Colombia, this is a remote (work-from-home), Contrato a Término Indefinido position with a minimum monthly salary of COP 23.4M.
