Senior Network Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD (REMOTE)
Contract to Hire
Summary: Works on network engineering team handling network projects, changes, and escalated troubleshooting. The position requires a solid understanding of data center, cloud, routing, & switching. Will participate in architecture & design of the network.
Essential Job Functions:
- Planning, designing, and implementing data center & cloud networking including core routing & WAN edge.
- Supporting data center, cloud, and network security products
- Escalated troubleshooting from site network issues.
- Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they arise
- Understand overall design of network security technologies
- Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel
- Work with InfoSec team to resolve vulnerabilities.
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Certification in Cisco is a plus.
- 5 years’ experience in a Senior Network Engineer role or related position
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS & AWS cloud
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace
- Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required
