To effectively navigate this increased scope of managing projects for our internal divisions, we’re seeking add three (3) highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Enterprise Architects to join the Enterprise Architecture team within the Architecture and Standards Group (A&S) of our Global Technology & Operations organization. Job Overview: The Sr. Principal Enterprise Architect (EA) will be responsible to closely partner with IQVIA Business Unit teams to understand the business OKR’s, help shape technology strategy aligned with enterprise standards and co-lead the design of high-level system architectures to deliver business outcomes. The EA will promote reusability, address technical debt and mitigate the proliferation of technology components, and services by championing “the IQVIA way” within the organization. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience envisioning and contributing to the technology roadmap and IT strategy, a deep understanding of software architecture principles, and a strong background successfully in large, global and complex technology ecosystems. Key Responsibilities: Partner with business and technology subject experts to understand, articulate and translate business requirements, use cases and product features into architecture blueprints and high-level solution designs. Partner with IQVIA Business Unit stakeholders to and work closely with engineering and product teams to promote our API-first development strategy. Help business leaders and their teams think through the technology, business and operational implications of their technology investment decisions. Present to stakeholders how architectural options will meet their needs. Be the Architecture thought leader and trusted go-to partner for Product and Engineering Leadership across the organization, recommending innovative solutions to improve live and new system architectures. Advising on the feasibility and effectiveness of strategic plans that rely on technology to deliver business outcomes Provide a wide-angle lens to inter-related business and technical capabilities by surfacing patterns of similar use cases Creating business cases to analyze, plan and prioritize investments in business capabilities Mapping business capabilities to underlying processes, systems and technologies Partner with business line managers providing comprehensive technical and system expertise to synergize IT strategic direction and architecture concepts. Collaborate with A&S EA peers, TA and engineering community across IQVIA to intake and validate business use cases for shared services delivery. Lead & manage the EA application portfolio for IQVIA. Promote and align stakeholders to maintain business and technology inventory. Devises and presents complex business cases and program release plans to senior management with priority recommendations to maintain and evolve IQVIA’s architecture roadmap. Negotiates with and influences the decision-making of senior executives and decision-makers. Keeps abreast of new trends and technology changes and identifies opportunities for implementation in future systems. Direct and mentor other architects in the team and across the organization. Designing the technology stack and engineering principles for new digital platforms Identifying competitors, industry leaders, peers and evaluate their use of technology relative to the enterprise; make practical recommendations on continuous improvement. Preferred Skills and Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture Experience developing strategic technology plans and roadmaps, including business architecture, value streams, capability maps & customer journeys Experience designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions Ability to present and communicate business and technical concepts Experience leading efforts to create technological solutions and architectures impacting critical areas of the business Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups Ability to think critically and solve problems Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (e.g., application, security, infrastructure) Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level Experience in enterprise architecture or application architecture, application development and/or systems management Strong understanding and hands-on experience of event-driven architectures, microservices-based, RESTful and alternative styles and other modern architecture design techniques and best practices Deep knowledge of API-first design patterns Experience with on-premise solutions and cloud platforms and architectures on Azure, AWS Experience in Healthcare/Life Sciences preferred IQVIA is a leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions and clinical research services to the life sciences industry. The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $176,300.00 – $327,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
