Overview: We are hiring a Senior SharePoint Developer to design, develop, and maintain strategic solutions for ORNL SharePoint sites! This position requires active involvement with project owners on our intranet. Applicants should be passionate about employee engagement and communications. This role resides in the Web Services group in the Information Technology Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Working on our team, you’ll be in a highly collaborative environment with other business and technical experts to capture, clarify, document, and verify application requirements. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Attend daily meetings with the SharePoint development team to ensure tasks meet established standards and security protocols. Customize SharePoint templates, themes, and layouts to align with organizational branding and user needs. Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, and workflows. Create and manage site content, like document libraries, lists, and web parts. Develop and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and navigation structures to improve content findability and usability. Develop and implement workflows and automation to streamline business processes. Assess and propose solutions to address business requirements effectively. Collaborate closely with project partners daily. Independently perform tasks, prioritize time efficiently, and maintain a goal-oriented and expiry-driven approach. Basic Qualifications: A BS in information systems, computer science, computer engineering, science, business, or a related field of study and at least eight (8) years of aligned experience working with SharePoint Online with out of the box modern experience. An overall combination of equivalent experience may be considered. SharePoint Online experience including setting permissions, creating pages, working with modern communications, team sites and web parts. Power Automate experience. InfoWise experience. Strong testing methods. Proficiency in HTML, CSS and other web technologies. Familiarity with Office 365, Teams, and other Microsoft productivity tools. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. Demonstrates a strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills. Desire to continuously improve technical skills and discover areas for the use of development tools meeting ORNL Standards may be used in place of non-standard tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft SharePoint certification Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
