Job Description

Main Job Purpose:

As a Senior System (Storage) Administrator, you’ll be the backbone of our IT support, ensuring the seamless operation of both internal and external systems. From monitoring and diagnosing incidents to resolving complex problems, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining our service levels and driving continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge on storage products
  • Handling Storage administration activities like storage Allocation / Deallocation / Expansion / Monitoring / Managing SAN
  • Support experience on Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN) and Content Attached Storage (CAS)
  • Resolve the majority of requests, tickets, and incidents independently, showcasing your expertise and problem-solving skills
  • Take charge of complex applications and operation systems, tackling challenges head-on and ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Lead the induction of new employees, providing professional guidance and sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities
  • Propose optimizations to processes, leveraging your experience to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
  • Contribute to the expansion of our knowledge base, compiling fault-diagnosis questionnaires and sharing insights to drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate incident management, proactively identifying and preventing SLA violations while escalating issues when necessary
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on incident handling and service improvements, providing valuable insights for decision-making
  • Provide proactive recommendations for service improvements based on trend analysis, driving ongoing enhancement of our IT support

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience with NetApp and Hitachi:

  • Extensive experience with NetApp – ONTAP and Hitachi systems, including setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in managing storage systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with Hitachi storage solutions, including SAN/NAS administration, replication, and snapshot management
  • Expertise in implementing and managing virtualized environments using NetApp and Hitachi technologies
  • Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes, leveraging NetApp and Hitachi tools to ensure data protection and disaster recovery readiness

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system and storage administration, with focus on providing 2nd and/or 3rd level support
  • Proven track record of independently resolving complex technical issues and optimizing IT processes

Skills:

  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving system incidents, with a strong understanding of ITIL framework
  • Proficiency in managing complex applications and operation systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Ability to analyze trends and proactively identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools and incident management processes
  • German language knowledge min. B2 (C1 is an advantage)
  • English language knowledge min. B1
