As a Software Engineer in charge of engineering productivity, you’ll build and maintain the key tools and systems that the engineering team uses to build Weights & Biases. You’ll partner closely with engineers around the organization to understand our various development workflows and brainstorm improvements. This is a brand new role, and as such you will have the opportunity to own the overall strategy, vision, and roadmap for how to boost engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research with engineers to understand their needs and develop the roadmap for internal tools and systems.
  • Improve build safety and speed by optimizing existing build processes and implementing new tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure the reliability and availability of our Continuous Integration and build pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain solutions for both local and remote development environments.
  • Design and implement new tools for production and development deployments.
  • Leverage GenAI tools to enhance the engineering workflow, automating repetitive tasks and improving efficiency.

What we’re looking for (Requirements)

  • A degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience/qualification.
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 1 year of experience building tools for developers.
  • Strong empathy for developers with a keen interest in understanding and addressing their challenges.
  • A self-driven attitude with a desire to find the path to greatest impact.
  • Strong interest in new technologies and a passion for staying abreast of the latest advancements in developer tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Go and git/github

$177,000 – $245,000 a year

The US base pay for this position ranges from $177,000 USD per year in our lowest geographic market up to $245,000 USD per year in our highest geographic market. Weights & Biases is committed to providing competitive salary, equity and benefits packages for all full-time employees. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
