Job Description Job Description Job Title: Software Engineer IT@JH University Information Systems (UIS) is seeking a Software Engineer who will participate in and/or guide the development and support of administrative and educational/academic computing initiatives, including the Student Information System (SIS) and its extensions, career services system, admissions system and other enterprise systems. Tasks are highly complex and varied in nature. The Software Engineer is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and support of centrally-managed systems which support the academic mission of the University. Specific Duties & Responsibilities. Responsible for the analysis, implementation and maintenance of the following: Third party systems integrations in admissions, career services, financial aid. Faculty, staff and student facing system enhancements. Documentation of requirements, software design and support. Adherence to departmental SDLC policies and best practices. Implementation of University’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP). Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad technical and business context. Will have multiple tasks with conflicting priorities. Provides guidance/training to more junior staff. Recognized expert internally within a discipline. Specific Devices, Software, Projects. Student Information System and its extensions/customizations, 25Live Scheduling, Digital Experience Platform, PowerFAIDS, iHopkins, Slate, J-card, Stellic, various HR systems, Career Services Systems, Graduate Admissions and related integrations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Five years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Experience with Microsoft .NET and C# Experience with SQL Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of, and demonstrable experience. OS/Infrastructure: Windows, Unix, Docker. Web app platforms: Vue.JS or similar JavaScript framework. Cloud integration: AWS or Azure. Source Control: SVN, Git and Gitflow. Experience XML/XSL, JSON, HTML/JavaScript/CSS ; report development experience with SQL Reporting Service is desirable. Experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, VB.NET Experience developing T-SQL objects like views, stored procedures, user-defined functions, etc. Total Rewards.
