The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer interfaces regularly with other IT and Optiv team members, Network Administrators and Project Management, and is responsible for the monitoring and support of systems in Azure and AWS cloud-based technologies. The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will use the skills required of an Administrator role for Windows Server and have the working knowledge of the skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission Azure and AWS related services. Additional duties consist of standard Enterprise Data Center support of Servers and Active Directory. This role requires hands on in Microsoft and infrastructure technologies working in private Data Center and Cloud environments. How you’ll make an impact: Responsible for enhancing the current Azure and AWS cloud environments. Leading the process of implementing, monitoring and enhancing the security of current and future Cloud environments. Leading the deployment, enhancement, and support of the Virtual Machines on premise and in Azure Leading the deployment, enhancement, and support of Docker containers Responsible for evaluating and automating the scaling and capacity requirements within Cloud environments. Leading the implementing infrastructure changes for servers and containers System security hardening Troubleshooting and resolving Cloud environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. Collaborate with internal teams to integrate Cloud infrastructure components into processes and procedures. What we’re looking for: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or relevant work experience in lieu 5+ years of experience in supporting applications and functions in the Azure and AWS Clouds. 5+ years of experience in supporting Microsoft Server and AD in VMWare private data center environment. Strong experience in implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Server and other Cloud solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security. Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments (CommVault, Metallic). Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services. Windows Server creation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources. Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes. Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and Windows Authentication. Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP. Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting. Knowledge of network equipment/IOS: routing, switching, and firewalls a plus. Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting. Excellent PowerShell skills. Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory including managing/maintaining GPOs. Knowledge of Linux operating systems a plus Salary Range Description $108,100.00 – $144,000.00 Annual The Hiring Range provided for this role is informed by (but not limited to) various factors including responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, geography, as well as other market influences when extending an offer. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for these factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a variable incentive-based bonus plan.
