DESCRIPTION The University of California, San Diego Health System seeks an individual with advanced knowledge in Windows workstation, application management and Printing device systems administration. The successful applicant will have a background in the installation, deployment, administration, security and maintenance of Windows and Peripheral devices in large enterprise (10,000+ device) environment. The incumbent will have demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts, namely PowerShell, used to perform system maintenance and administration. The candidate will show advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and polices including demonstrated experience securing management servers and workstations. In conjunction with the enterprise systems teams, the incumbent provides system analysis, maintenance, and monitoring of systems and servers including installations, upgrades, patches, as well as documentation with primary responsibility for the implementation, management, support and maintenance of various system software products and hardware components that comprise enterprise computing infrastructure. Manages and supports the systems/hardware infrastructure and associated resources. Provides 7/24 problem management support and resolution for all applications and operating systems as part of the on-call rotation. Incumbent will have advanced knowledge with a variety of software tools, including those related to support and implementation. Incumbents provide consultation and knowledge transfer with respect to system administration techniques and software components. The incumbent will have a good background in technical writing, documentation, and project management. Advanced knowledge and experience engineering and administering systems in the following areas is preferred: Windows Server, Windows 10/11 Enterprise, Azure Virtual Desktop, Active Directory Group Policy, and peripheral device management such as Printers, scanner and card readers. Hardware knowledge of the following system types is preferred: Dell, HP, Microsoft Enterprise class computing hardware. Support knowledge and experience with Networking protocols and Cloud Computing technologies such as Azure, Intune and Office 365 administration. Assists with the management, support, and oversight of the Health Systems’ Device Management platforms including System Center Suite (SCCM, Orchestrator), WSUS, Intune, Absolute, Imprivata (Tap In/Out), Printer Logic, and other device management systems as required. Incumbent assists with managing, maintaining, monitoring and securing (including data security) of all Health System workstations including installations, upgrades, patches and documentation including an annual review of all systems. Collaborates with other Health System and Campus based teams as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: SCCM, Intune and/or Powershell experience. Advanced knowledge of systems integration deploying complex systems integration solutions. Advanced skills associated with system integration design, modification, implementation and deployment in a complex environment. Demonstrated ability to develop complex conversion and system implementation plans. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Development and administration of formal technical training to users at a variety of levels. Thorough understanding of client infrastructure management including: Active Directory, Group Policies, Client Management Software (SCCM), Microsoft Intune, PXE, software deployment, remote application deployment, and incident management. Working Knowledge of ITSM Practices. ITIL Foundation Certification. MCSA Certification Windows 10/11, Mobility or equivalent experience. Advanced knowledge of MDM support systems including Intune. Working knowledge deploying and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop CompTIA A+; or equivalent combination of education and experience SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $101,200 – $192,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $48.47 – $92.05 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
