We are seeking a passionate technical leader to join our growing team. What you’ll do as a staff software engineer: Build a modern and beautiful product that shapes the user experience for Author Health’s members, caregivers, and providers. Serve as a technical and domain subject matter expert providing leadership and sharing expertise to a growing team of engineers. Collaborate with product managers throughout the development lifecycle offering technical guidance and product design recommendations. Lead technical design discussions and drive engineering excellence by providing guidance to team members on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles. Ensure operational excellence through automation, documentation, instrumentation of logs and metrics, monitoring, and alerting. Maintain a high level of quality in software through automated testing, profiling, and debugging in a HIPAA-compliant environment. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teammates fostering their growth and development. Facilitate alignment and clarity across the product team on goals, outcomes, and timelines. What we expect from you: High level of empathy and humility. 7+ years professional experience as a full-time software engineer. Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages (Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) Extensive understanding of the full stack. Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and scaling high-traffic web services on cloud platforms like GCP or AWS. Demonstrated experience in technical leadership of cross-functional engineering teams. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced agile environment. Experience collaborating with product management and design teams throughout the full software development lifecycle. Ability to architect and implement software systems in complex domains. Excellent communication skills capable of effectively conveying technical ideas in written and verbal form. Experience working with a remote team.
