Position Summary We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. The job requires good communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently in a small team environment, to deliver on-time and on-quality work. Responsibilities Install and configure software, hardware and services; on-/off-board users. Manage Cloud, networks, servers, website, and technology tools. Plan and implement system improvements. Provide guidance on system options, requirements, risk, impact, costs vs. benefits, and deployment forecasts. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements. Troubleshoot issues and outages. Ensure security through access control lists, firewalls, and backups. Plan and purchase technical equipment and related software subscriptions. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies. Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role Experience with Windows and Linux installation and administration (including automation with system images and other tools) Experience with Cloud and VM management (Azure, DigitalOcean or other Clouds) Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V Experience with Azure Active Directory Experience with network management (Firewall, IPsec, Wireguard, L2TP VPN) Experience with setting up commercial equipment: routers, wireless ap, printers (e.g. Ubiquiti, Mikrotik) Familiarity with enterprise applications like ticketing and document systems (Jira/Confluence), remote access (e.g. RDP, TeamViewer), password managers/vaults (e.g. Bitwarden), etc. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery Familiarity with website management (CloudFlare, cPanel, DNS, FTP, etc.) Basic understanding and experience with SSL/TLS certificates Knowledge of RDBMS management and basic SQL skills Familiarity with PowerShell and/or bash scripting Upper-intermediate (or higher) English writing and spoken skills, including email etiquette. BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus. Bonus Skills (optional, but would be a plus): Experience with Azure ActiveDirectory (AD), Microsoft InTune, Enterprise Applications, SAML SSO Experience with deploying to cloud environments, e.g., Azure or DigitalOcean Knowledge of production web application security Experience with financial messaging protocols (e.g., FIX) Basic knowledge of DevOps systems (Git/SVN, Jenkins, Docker, etc.) Ideal Personality: Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to details. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills. A positive personality and attitude – ability to derive satisfaction from their job.
