Technical Project Manager – Digital Lottery Industry at Mito #vacancy #remote

At Mito Digital, we design and deliver human-centered, best-in-class digital solutions for enterprises from around the globe, in industries such as telco, lottery, ecommerce, and aviation. We are super proud of the things we put together and have a lot of fun while doing it. But you can never get enough pride and fun, can you?

Our lottery & betting expert team has been streamlining the digital platforms of prestigious industry clients for more than ten years, and now it’s their chance to get lucky. They’re looking for a seasoned Technical Project Manager to join their ranks and help secure a winning ticket for project success.

Your tasks will be…

  • Managing and supporting the daily work of a web development team of frontend and backend developers.
  • Managing challenging long-term development projects – and by challenging, we mean that you do not only have to forward emails. You have to manage resources, schedules, risks, scope, and stakeholders within and outside, the lot.
  • Working on exciting development projects in a fast-paced work environment with this team. We have many projects with life cycles ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months.
  • Running (and sometimes running to) status meetings to ensure a smooth delivery, providing updates on status and impediments.
  • Validating and pass on clear messages from the client side to the developers (as well as any other divisions) and vice versa, therefore you must be a firm, good communicator. Clients may be billion-dollar brands or a Mito department next door.
  • Keeping JIRA and Confluence fresh and tidy – as it is quite difficult to manage a project without proper scheduling, specifications, and documentation.
  • Using our sophisticated toolchains to deploy, quality check, and perform project management-related tasks, so you must have a steady compatible terminal at hand.
  • Supporting a lot of technical matters on both client and developer side, thus we need you to have a strong technical understanding.
  • To excel independently. We rely on your knowledge and ability to set priorities and solve upcoming challenges right before they turn into issues, and then problems.

What we expect from you…

  • You have managed multiple complex web projects that you delivered for external clients in the last few years, from specifications to release and support. On the technical side, you are familiar with different backend and frontend technologies, both venerable and new, plus apps in Go and Rust.
  • You have a strong technical background and/or developer experience, so you dare to press that F12 button and don’t hesitate to dwell into server logs to debug a backend issue.
  • You have excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English, as you will have to use both in your day-to-day and moment-to-moment tasks.
  • You can read between the lines (absolutely no pun intended), especially when it comes to translating client dreams and wishes into tangible technical requirements.
  • You have heard about CI/CD and you are not afraid of using or learning it
  • You understand business jargon and that of developers too, moreover what you say gets accepted
  • You use ticketing (we use JIRA) and you know that a bug report is not just saying “there is something wrong with the API, check it pls”
  • You are not a one-man army, you can think in teams. So just be a team player.

We’ll be exceptionally happy if you…

  • have any experience with GitLab as our code is living there,
  • are interested in DevOps (as there are several options for learning here),
  • are acquainted with both Agile and Waterfall (mostly Waterfall)
  • dabbled in business analysis or held other auxiliary functions to PM,
  • worked with a nice, diverse portfolio of clients on your professional journey. We promise that exciting prospects are on the horizon!

Benefits

What makes working at Mito unique:

Plenty of challenges. And endless resources to meet them.

  • All four of our business units work on impactful projects throughout the world. Your efforts can and will make a difference in people’s lives, whether they’re booking a plane ticket or want to be delighted by a funny commercial on TV.
  • World-class work requires world-class working conditions. Like a beautiful office in downtown Budapest, MacBooks (if you prefer so), coffee (if you prefer so), fruit (who doesn’t like that), beer, whatever.
  • Hybrid working environment, so you can work from home when you need to, though to keep everything and everyone on track, we do like to meet in person and spend some days at the office.
  • Our Level Up system will reward your professional progress with extra days off every year.

A community

  • Mito has always been a place where the only thing we take seriously is work, so you’ll be able to have fun and meet great people like yourself.
  • From Hackathons to office parties and Easter egg hunting for the kids, we love to spend time together either to get to know each other better or just to…you know. No reason.
  • Dogs are super welcome at the office, and have been ever since Mito’s inception.

The freedom to shape your benefits

  • Whether you’re into individual or team sports, looking for a new set of running shoes, or a gym pass, you can use your flexible personal budget to cover it. You may also use it to improve any of your talents, whether it’s studying German, JavaScript, or how to fix a gas leak. We’ll chip in to take care of your medical expenses, if needed. Additionally, personal budgets can also cover commuting (fancy bike helmet included).
