Join Downstream Technology Development as a
Technology Development Engineer
Place of work: Százhalombatta (1-2 days/week in Budapest MOL Campus)
Purpose of the position:
The Technology Developer drives the initiation of new projects, particularly in process technology. They must possess a strong grasp of physical chemistry for existing and emerging technologies, excel in creating decision-making materials, lead project teams through critical phases, and effectively manage stakeholders.
Main responsibilities:
Identify new project opportunities aligned with market demands, energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction Conduct objective evaluations of proposed ideas, discarding non-viable options and prioritizing potential projects Establish the Business Case for projects, exploring alternative technical solutions to meet business objectives. Search for possible alternate technical solutions to deliver identified business objectives (benefits/opportunities) Provide and evaluate data from various calculations Identify, rank, and manage Technology Licensors. Prepare Invitation to Bid documentation, incorporating inputs for Licensor, required deliverables and project management framework (schedule, cooperation, contracting). Prepare the Complex Evaluation Criteria. Assemble inputs from the Project Team and Asset Team Review Feasibility Study documentation and prepare conceptual technical scopes Prepare Outside Battery Limits conceptual technical scope. Identify available capacity and deficit in utilities. Prepare a block scheme depicting the required connections and new facilities between the technical scope provided by Licensor, and existing Refinery infrastructure. Identify possible options for site selection Prepare decision-making materials, cooperating with experts for the related field complete the Project Execution Plan, Project Schedule, CAPEX estimate and Valuation. Represent the project objectives during the mandatory reviews, prepare presentations as required. Prepare calculations for project Post Evaluation. Record Lessons Learned and proposes relevant process improvements Provide process engineering expertise during Select project stage. Review and comment Basic Engineering Design documentation, participate on PFD review, P&ID review, HAZOP (and LOPA, SIL). Reinforce Business Case based on the higher quality data for the Investment Project Proposal document
Requirements:
Technical University Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Advanced level of English knowledge (Hungarian is a must) 3 years of experience in Refinery Production, Process Engineering (Designer) Process engineering, project management knowledge Understanding Refinery value chain, technologies and processes Understanding of business drivers for a project Basic level process modelling MS Office user level, Aspentech Hysys
