Position: UI/Front End Developer Location: Westchester, IL Duration: Contract Rate: DOE Requirements: • Someone very experienced with coding. I need a mid-sr FE coder that can join the team and help architect applications that are modular, reusable and maintainable with HTML and CSS. Someone that knows how to work with Object Oriented CSS (OOCSS), BEM or SMACSS • What your day will look like:
- • Working with a design and development team to create front-end user interfaces that will have dependencies to a new and growing component library.
- • Being in the code: pulling from source control, making HTML template changes, adding new css and styles, adding interaction with JQuery, or building out new solutions and pushing and deploying your changes.
- • Work with legacy applications, working around their dependencies to introduce new solutions and assist in modernization plans.
- • Creating new ideas and turning them into reusable code snippets and patterns for repurposing in the future.
- • Ensuring the technical feasibility of the design concepts accounting for responsiveness, speed, and accessibility.
- • Assists with maintaining and enforcing IAA brand and product defined standards and overseeing that these principles are maintained.
- • Uses strong analytical skills and has the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Basic qualifications:
- • You have at least 4 years’ professional experience in Web / UI design or development.
- • You can share an online portfolio that showcases your talent and the goals you achieved as a result of your work.
- • You have a clear understanding of UI design patterns, responsive web design, and web accessibility.
- • You are able to communicate clearly with your peers.

- • You have experience working on projects with multiple developers and stakeholders.

• Technical skills:
- • Ability to build responsive and accessible web pages – HTML and CSS
- • Ability to write modular, scalable and DRY HTML and CSS code.
- • Ability to work with front-end website frameworks – Bootstrap and similar
- • Ability to work with image authoring tools – Sketch & Photoshop
- • Ability to write client-side interactions – JQuery and Javascript
• Preferred qualifications:
- • Formal design training. BA/BFA (or equivalent experience).
- • Ability to juggle multiple projects and timelines.
- • Familiarity with the opportunities and limitations of web typography.
- • Familiarity with vector graphics and iconography.
- • Familiarity with code versioning tool – Visual Studio
- • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks.
- • Knowledge around good UX practices
• Bonus qualifications:
- • Experience with XCode / Android Studio
- • Experience with CSS Preprocessors – SASS or LESS
- • Experience with Javascript MVC Frameworks – Angular, React or Vue
