Skip is looking for a software engineer to join the Skip API team and help it scale to $10b of annualized volume.
Skip API is a leading interoperability platform for interchain. Wallet and frontend developers in all major crypto ecosystems (Solana, Cosmos, Ethereum) use the Skip API to route $100m+ of tokens between chains every month.
We’re looking for someone who can help us quickly scale the product to dozens of new DEXes & bridges, and hundreds of new chains & rollups.
The ideal candidate is extremely curious and extremely high-agency. When they encounter an engineering problem they don’t know how to solve, they call in all resources at their disposal to find the answer and ship the solution quickly. They’re not afraid to say “I don’t know” or ask for help, but they are afraid to say “It can’t be done” or give up. Someone who treats software development as a job to get done, instead of a craft to be mastered, will quickly fail at Skip.
Role
- Contribute to the infrastructure, pipelines, smart contracts, and backend services that power Skip API
- Participate in architecture and system design discussions
- Identify & execute on opportunities to restructure our code to improve engineering velocity and product SLAs
- Grow to own multiple subsystems in Skip API (e.g. routing, DEX aggregation, bridge optimization, etc…)
- Work with other engineers at Skip to improve our processes, standards, and toolchain systematically over time
Qualifications
Required
- BS/BA in Computer Science or Computer Engineering OR 2+ years in a full-time production programming experience
- Demonstrated ability to ship backend systems from scratch
- Deep interest in blockchains and related decentralized technologies
- Comfort operating in a very fast-paced, high-intensity environment
Bonus
- Strong working knowledge of bridges and/or DEXes
- History launching protocols, dapps, or similar
- Contributions to Tendermint, Cosmos-SDK, IBC, or other blockchain open-source projects
