Senior Network Engineer Location: Columbia, MD (REMOTE) Contract to Hire Summary: Works on network engineering team handling network projects, changes, and escalated troubleshooting. The position requires a solid understanding of data center, cloud, routing, & switching. Will participate in architecture & design of the network. Essential Job Functions: Planning, designing, and implementing data center & cloud networking including core routing & WAN edge. Supporting data center, cloud, and network security products Escalated troubleshooting from site network issues. Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they arise Understand overall design of network security technologies Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel Work with InfoSec team to resolve vulnerabilities. Required Skills/Experience/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Certification in Cisco is a plus. 5 years’ experience in a Senior Network Engineer role or related position Knowledge of Cisco IOS & AWS cloud Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required
