As an SRE/Performance Automation Engineer, you will be working directly with the feature engineering teams to help bring our Pizza Hut cutting-edge container-based cloud hosted solutions to production in a safe and supportable way. You will contribute to designing and implementing improvements to our build pipelines & our monitoring and support strategy. You will be responsible for creating and running and a suite of Load Test scripts for various applications within the Pizza Hut ecosystem. The core focus will be on creating a new suite of load test scripts to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement within the Website, API, and Mobile Apps. You will be working alongside Site Reliability Engineers, Developers, QA, and Business Analysts to help define, refine, and verify Performance goals for each application. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify clear requirements for Load Test Scenarios
- GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or greater GCP certification
- Building infrastructure in both AWS and GCP for enterprise applications using Terraform
- Progressing code from development to production through automation leveraging blue green deployment techniques.
- Build proactive monitoring and alerting solution using PH tools on SRE Golden Signals. Real-Time service management inclusive of building monitoring for the golden signal SLIs, building alerting, creating runbooks for services in conjunction with development teams and product owners
- Work with team members to identify and develop an SLO for applications
- Seek to minimize or eliminate manual hand-offs and to also link all automated workflows. Assist teams in producing business case analysis to ensure clear messaging as to the ‘why’ of automation improvements.
- Create and maintain Load Test Scripts and reports using Locust (Python scripting)
- Analyze results from tests and provide recommendations on how to improve the system
- Develop a proper performance testing strategy
- Communicate results and requirements effectively to teammates
- Provide documentation on new performance tests, results, and improvements made to system
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of experience in SRE proactive monitoring tools like Splunk, NewRelic and OpsGenie
- 3+ years of experience in SRE traffic management tools like Akamai.
- Experience with multi-cloud solutions
- 3+ years in a Software Performance Engineering role.
- 3+ years working with REST APIs as both an API provider as well as consumer
- 5+ years’ experience working with software development projects
- Certifications in, at a minimum, AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification and/or Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification
- Experience and comfort with Agile development
- Experience with Postman, Locust and Jmeter.
- Exposure and understanding of a CI/CD process
- Experience with testing Single Page Applications and APIs
- Requirement’s analysis skills and experience
