In the E-Government department, you are in charge of information technology and the IT equipment of the almost 50 municipal schools in Potsdam. You will be responsible for all matters relating to IT procurement, IT operations, IT service and IT security. You will play a decisive role in the further development of the IT strategy and have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the IT landscape of Potsdam’s city administration.

- Organizational, personnel and financial responsibility for your department
- Continuous and forward-looking conceptualization, planning, implementation and further development of IT systems in a targeted process landscape
- Planning, controlling and monitoring IT projects, including their operational implementation
- Ensuring the availability, security and performance of the department and optimizing processes
- Representing your department vis-à-vis the administrative management, other divisions and committees as well as externally
- Disciplinary and technical management of the department with currently 2 department heads and over 70 employees
Your profile
- Completed relevant academic degree (Master’s or university diploma), preferably in the fields of computer science, business informatics, information technology, administrative sciences (preferably with a focus on e-government), mathematics or comparable
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- First management experience with proven leadership skills (e.g. by attending seminars or similar)
- Strong management skills
- High ability to deal with conflict, resilience and strategic competence
- Very good communication and cooperation skills as well as judgment and decision-making skills
In interactions, you are confident, cooperative and a strong communicator and deal with emerging conflicts or criticism with a strong focus on values and solutions, self-reflection and empathy; you know how to defend your position convincingly and manage stressful situations. As a strong leader, your actions are characterized by goal and solution orientation and you enjoy setting your own priorities. Your high level of diversity and intercultural skills round off your profile.
