Job/Position DescriptionThe Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is currently seeking an Oracle Developer for a full-time position within the IT Data Management team. The Developer reports to the Data Management Manager within Information Technology Services (ITS). Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position performs advanced (senior-level) data systems analysis; data development; and on-going support of applications used by DFPS staff. Some work involves extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data into the agency data warehouse; data warehouse development; data administration; and coordinating the planning and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing systems.As a member on the Data Management Team, the position requires strong knowledge of data warehouse development, ETL, Oracle, PL/SQL and SQL. Preferrable, the candidate should have knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter as well as business intelligence visualization tools such as Tableau. The position requires an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to manage projects against established timelines with minimal supervision.
