About the job Data Entry Operator / Entry Level (Remote) General Description Salary Disclosure: Hourly Range: $12.60 – $20.48 Pay Grade: N25Non-exempt position Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Department: Utilities Customer & information Services Location: Dade City, Land O’ Lakes, New Port Richey & Wesley Chapel General Description: Extensive payment processing and payment related functions, and prepares daily deposit and spreadsheets to be provided to Finance. EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES: All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. During and emergency, employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens. Essential Job Functions Sorts mail, separating out utility payments, solid waste, bank checks, returned mail, and miscellaneous items. Opens any unopened mail, using a mail opener machine. Prepares and processes payments through Aperta and those needing to be hand-keyed (manual posting). Remits all payments and prepares deposit to be sent to the bank daily. Balances daily reports and researches any discrepancies. Prepares daily spreadsheet and provides the information to Finance. Processes Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) requests by entering valid information into CIS. Processes returned check payments, received from Finance, and adds associated fees to the customer’s account. Pulls in files (Checkfree, Metavante, Online Resources, and EFT) for payments to be uploaded into CIS. Performs related work, as needed. Minimum Requirements PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to read small printed words and numbers rapidly and accurately. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. One (1) year of paid personal computer experience. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
