Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a Appian Developer to support the National Media Exploitation Center. This position will be based out of Bethesda, MD with a Hybrid Remote work schedule. Duties include examining customer problems and implementing appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return to service. This role analyzes recurring problems and initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence and analyzes existing infrastructure for tuning/performance enhancements. The individual will provide systems and software operations and maintenance support in a large, multi-enclave enterprise environment. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of capabilities of customers. Individuals in this role may be required to perform technical software configuration, rebooting, and other remedial actions on customer servers. The Customer utilizes an Agile Framework to plan and successfully complete all initiatives. Candidates with strong Java development experience and a desire to learn Appian and an active TS/SCI clearance are encouraged to apply. What you will do Work with other Appian developers to deliver a solution using a combination of record types, interfaces, process models, CDTs, expression rules, reports, etc. Key application features include document management, project scheduling, resource allocation, document approval, reporting, and planning. Work closely with Business Analysts to design conceptual workflows and related actions to support the customer’s vision within the solution. Provide guidance to Business Analysts regarding the implementation complexity of their designs to aid the customer in deciding which approach to pursue from a cost/benefit perspective. Demonstrate periodically to the team during Daily Stand-Ups features as you complete them. Participate in all Agile-based ceremonies, to include assisting the team with story estimation. Execute unit tests and integration tests against your changes. Assist other Appian developers with their tasks from a peer programming perspective, including reviewing their SAIL code and implementation approach. Assist with the testing effort following all Appian upgrades. Check code into a DevOps pipeline to promote Appian objects/packages to a higher tier. Ensure project deliverables meet team/customer quality standards, as well as functional/non-functional requirements. Support the remediation of issues that arise in non-development environments, including production. What you need to have BS degree with 6+ years of experience or 9+ years of professional experience, with no degree Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance 6 years of software development A fundamental understanding of web development concepts. Strong analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to follow-up in a timely manner. The ability to turn written and verbal requirements into process flows and interfaces What we’d like you to have Relevant Appian technical knowledge Prior experience with software development, including building JavaScript, C#, and/or Java/J2EE-based applications.
