The manager of data analytics will be an integral part of the Optimal Care and Clinical Technology team, running detailed data analytics on large data sets that will be crucial in supporting Optum Health. They will help support building and maintaining complex data models and their proficiency in working with large data sets will be crucial. They will also have the opportunity to assist in forecasting and reporting of medical expense.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ownership of specialist analytic models and reporting
- Improve and maintain analytic models
- Integrate different types of data (claims, referral, outcomes) into analytic models
- Perform Quality Control of data ingested into models
- Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business needs, and proposes documented solution recommendations
- Provides solutions for making processes more efficient
- Write and maintain SQL and python code
- Create and maintain documentation around processes
- Perform ad hoc analytics on large data sets
- Collaborate and partner with broader Optimal Care and Clinical Technology team, national and local HCE, Optum Technology, and local region and market partners
- Anticipate problems and proactively provide solutions

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of data management and analytics experience in a matrixed organization
- 3+ years of Heath Care industry experience
- 3+ years of working with large healthcare data sets (claims, referrals, etc.)
- Intermediate to Advanced SQL skills
- Familiarity with Python
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Proven track record of influencing without authority and navigating a highly matrixed organization
- Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and adapting within a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to document process, models, designs, and solutions and able to explain, represent, and discuss with the team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of and experience with medical expense and risk-based membership (e.g. Medicare Advantage), specifically as it relates to finance and accounting
- Intermediate to Advanced Python skills
- Experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau/Power BI
- Proficiency with Snowflake
- Proficiency with PowerPoint
- Experience presenting to leadership

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
