For our Information Technology department 1.105, we are looking for a:n
IT specialist:in data center and databases
The area of responsibility includes
- Operation and further development of the Microsoft SQL Always-On Cluster (Windows) and PostgreSQL High Availability environment (Linux)
- Implementation and optimization of monitoring and alerting
- Carrying out system analyses and troubleshooting to ensure operation
- Project support for IT measures in the database environment
- Documentation of the relevant measures in database administration
- Advising specialist departments on the implementation and operation of databases in the SQL Always-On Cluster and the PostgreSQL High Availability environment
- Introduction of new database management systems or implementation of version changes including conceptual design and documentation
- Checking scripts and installation routines for compatibility with existing security guidelines
Expected to be
- A successfully completed degree (e.g. computer science, business informatics, mathematics, physics, communications engineering or engineering sciences) or comparable qualification or proven equivalent skills and experience (e.g. through many years of relevant professional experience that qualifies for the advertised position)
- Professional experience as a database administrator
- Furthermore, you ideally have the following knowledge or experience:
- Very good knowledge of administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and newer
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL administration
- Knowledge of SQL statements, scripts
- Knowledge of current Microsoft and Linux server operating systems
- Knowledge of PRTG, Microsoft SCOM
- Experience in working and communicating in an interdisciplinary team
