Job Summary The Associate Director, Account Manager – K12 is responsible for maximizing purchasing income. This is achieved by driving compliance and conversion opportunities, building strong client based partnerships, understanding the business model/needs and influencing behavior in a collaborative way across a large decentralized organization. This position is remote. Responsibilities: Business Needs:
- Conduct regular business reviews with Client’s Executive leadership
- Maximize understanding of business model and identify opportunities for purchasing income and/or cost savings
- Complete ownership, accountability and understanding specific to client’s model
Project Management:
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with all stakeholders, including senior executives, sponsors, business owners and field operations
- Document and analyze information and processes to solve critical business issues
- Build and manage (directly and indirectly) teams to meet the resource needs required of each project
Purchasing Initiatives:
- Provide input to client and Foodbuy management for development of purchasing initiatives
- Drive compliance and conversion opportunities into the business
- Develop and initiate action plans to achieve purchasing initiatives
- Communicate purchasing expectations and action plans
Collaboration:
- Support cross functional activity/projects
- Develop cross channel strategies to leverage efficiencies and improve processes
Leadership Support:
- Assist regional leadership in establishing and executing strategic purchasing initiatives
- Support culinary and menu engineering opportunities
- Support marketing and program initiatives
- Support purchasing communications strategies within the client base
Compliance Measures/Report Card:
- Communicate scorecard results and prepare action plans for improvement
- Advise field leadership on strategies to achieve purchasing compliance goals
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of multi-unit food service, purchasing, business development or national account sales experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Experience with K12 is preferred including understanding of the national school lunch program, etc.
- USDA Commodities experience is recommended
- Strong organizational skills needed to manage multiple projects.
- Strong professional presentation and interpersonal skills combined with good verbal and written communication skills. Prior DISC training/knowledge is a plus.
- Prior training experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong influencing skills-must be able to persuade people’s attitudes, behaviors and decisions to desired results
- Excellent client relationship skills, both internally and externally
- Ability to build effective long-term interpersonal relationships proactively across functions both within Foodbuy and external parties, working with others towards mutually acceptable solutions
- Ability to manage financial resources and costs in order to ensure the achievement of strategic organizational objectives and to increase the profitability of Foodbuy.
- Ability to travel approximately 35% annually
