Mindpoint Group, LLC has an exciting opportunity to join our team at a federal agency to develop and provide cyber metrics and performance tracking processes. This position is critical to the continued maturation of the client-s capabilities and ensuring their ability to make meaningful data driven decisions. We are seeking a Data Analyst/Cybersecurity Performance Analyst to help our team discover actionable insights from large data sets and make better decisions in our mission to prevent and respond to threats more quickly and efficiently. What you get to do every day: + Use data visualization tools to develop interactive dashboards and monitor meaningful cybersecurity metrics by leveraging experience and understanding of federal requirements, cybersecurity principles, and Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) capabilities. + Translate program data into cybersecurity performance dashboards to enhance the client-s ability to visualize and understand FISMA metrics, CDM requirements, risk scoring metrics, POA&Ms, and audit findings. + Translate data relative to key metrics and FISMA CIO metrics into cybersecurity dashboards to ease and accelerate FISMA score reporting and status visibility. + Coordinate with development and engineering teams to ensure that key metrics are incorporated from the agency-s enterprise ISCM capabilities and dashboards. + Identify and evaluate data sources to support the cybersecurity team-s function, and recommend the implementation of new data collection instruments to support the program-s continuous improvement. + Implement automated data collection and aggregation from a variety of sources, such as case management and ticketing tools, and other in-house databases + Derive insights from data analysis, conduct root-cause analysis of operational issues identified by the data, and provide recommendations to remediate operational issues + Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables and analysis Qualifications US Citizenship, Public Trust Eligibility required What skills are required? + Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related discipline + Minimum eight (8) years of general experience and six (6) years of IT Security experience + Hands-on experience conducting data analysis including the development of visualizations and dashboards + Experience with a range of data analysis techniques including data wrangling, ETL, exploratory data analysis, field engineering, data aggregration, visualization, big data analysis, and machine learning techniques such as linear regression, random forest, clustering, NLP techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning, graph algorithms, etc. + Demonstrated experience with current Business Intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI or Tableau) + Experience driving/supporting multiple projects simultaneously + Highly organized with critical thinking abilities at both the strategic and tactical levels + Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) and navigate at all levels in the organization with the detail appropriate to the forum and audience What is ideal? + Experience in managing large data-driven projects in a cybersecurity environment + Ability to understand, interpret and track meaningful cybersecurity metrics + Algorithm development and implementation + Experience with a range of data analysis techniques: linear regression, random forest, clustering, NLP techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning, graph algorithms, etc. + Familiarity with cybersecurity publications and regulations (e.g. NIST, FISMA) Location: + This role will be hybrid in nature with regular on-site presence a few times a week in Washington, DC. The salary range for this position is typically $120-130k.
