Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate, design, and implement robust security systems. Shield our information assets from cyber threats and continuously fortify our security posture. Lead the charge in our Security Operations Center, offering crucial oversight and direction. Be the beacon for monitoring, investigating, and alerting on key security threats, keeping our digital environment secure. Develop, modify, and implement security controls aligned with company policies and procedures that affect cybersecurity operations. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, frameworks, and regulations. Evaluate company and vendor technology infrastructure security. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, reviews, and testing to continuously improve our organizational and operational resilience. As a key member of our Security Incident Response team, apply keen investigative skills and take swift action in resolving security alerts or breaches, safeguarding our digital borders. Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability scanning on all company networks and applications. Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities based on severity and impact. Lead company risk and security assessments. Your ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights is crucial for our internal stakeholders and security team. Keep us ahead of the curve by researching emerging security products, technologies, and best practices. Your recommendations will shape the future of our security landscape. Work hand-in-glove with Engineering, Analytics, and IT Operations to weave security and data governance seamlessly into the software development life cycle, elevating our SDLC practices. Partner with business stakeholders to scrutinize departmental initiatives and procedures. Identify vulnerabilities and propose solutions to ensure our security controls and compliance are top-notch. Domestic travel to company headquarters and/or vendor locations on quarterly basis, with additional travel as required. Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related field. Equivalent work experience and certifications may be considered. Strong technical background in software development with 4+ years experience in cybersecurity engineering role working closely with software engineering, dev/ops, and/or cloud/networking/infrastructure teams. Experience designing, implementing, and managing layered security programs within cloud first architectures integrated with other large third-party SaaS/ecommerce platforms (Salesforce, WordPress). Experience working within tech stack/tools including: JS, PHP, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Kafka, NeonDB, Cloudflare, Gitlab, Doppler, and/or related technologies. Experience securing applications built on cloud platforms (DigitalOcean, AWS, or GCP). Experience with modern network architectures and tooling to manage and support remote workforce including associates in the field (outside sales). Deep understanding of key industry frameworks and controls including NIST CSF, CIS CSC, PCI-DSS, Cyber Defense Matrix, ISO 27001, and MITRE ATT&CK. Familiarity with a broad range of security tools and technologies including EDR, SIEM, SWG, CASB, DLP, & IDS/IPS. Preferred certifications: CCSP, CASP+, CISSP, Security+, CEH. Top-notch analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to tackle complex challenges head-on. Savvy with data but can also connect the dots and devise smart solutions. Remains cool under pressure high-stakes situations when navigating the dynamic landscape of cybersecurity. Ensures clarity and focus when it matters most. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, along with a knack for building strong interpersonal connections.
