Data Modeler – Remote – Multiple Open Positions Galorath is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Modeler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture and modeling, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience using IBM System Architect or Dassault CAMEO tools. This role is crucial for creating accurate and efficient data models that support our client’s organization objectives and data strategy. The Data Modeler will collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to design and implement models that enable effective data storage, integration, and analysis. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Possess andmaintain an active Secret Clearance Background in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Digital Engineering 5 years +data modeling, (preferably with IBM System Architect or Dassault’s CAMEO tools). Working understanding of the end-to-end Systems Engineering Process (INCOSE Vee) Strong understanding of data modeling principles, including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL database designs. Experience working with large data sets and complex data systems. Knowledge of data architecture frameworks, methodologies, and tools. SQL experience (familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java is a plus). Experience working in government or industry in relevant work areas including: system acquisition, enterprise architecture, systems engineering and integration, or project management of complex systems. Ability to work collaboratively with mission partners and stakeholders across organizational boundaries, in a team environment and manage multiple priorities and projects. Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to organize, schedule, and accomplish a wide variety of tasks in a timely manner. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Key Responsibilities : The successful candidate will assist the customer in defining data modeling strategy, providing leadership, oversight, and technical guidance, and performing cross-discipline activities required to support data modeling, decision-making, and assessment of alternatives in relation to the customer’s systems and initiatives. Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models. Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support new and existing applications. Utilize IBM System Architect or Dassault CAMEO tools to create models that accurately represent business processes and data structures. Ensure models are in line with the organization’s data governance and architecture standards. Coordinate with SMEs and stakeholders to identify data model what-if scenarios, and document, recommend, and present complex models. Support modeling and simulation activities and participate in the development and review of customer strategies and roadmaps. Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models Hands-on modeling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC. Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL). Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks. Function within the customer’s agile management environment by actively participating in agile planning processes and events, and identifying, managing, and statusing tasks and dependencies. Conduct model reviews with project teams and stakeholders to validate design and implementation. Optimize and refine data models to improve performance and usability. Maintain documentation for data models and architectures for reference and reporting purposes. Collaborate with IT and data governance teams to ensure data model compliance with data security, quality, and privacy standards.
