Database Engineer – 24-00113 6+ months up to 3 years contract with right to hire (open ended long term) New York – Hybrid OR Remote Local to NYC area Rate 85.00-90.00 per hour w2 only No C2C or 3rd party agencies L2 Security Clearance Required Project: Migrating Oracle/SQL (on-prem) to AWS (cloud) – and Previous cloud migration experience required The selected individual must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written as well as presentation skills. You will: Migrate on-prem database (Oracle and SQL) to AWS & Upgrade Oracle database and skilled in resolving performance issues in Databases Tuning complex business analytical queries Ad hoc projects, and other assignments as needed Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform and Gitlab – (confident with IaC troubleshoot and resolve) Monitor and tune database environments to ensure optimum performance and maximization of available resources. Must have excellent team and collaboration skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels and solid presentation skills Prepare high quality documentation of design/architecture/database infrastructure documents. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written skills, including good presentation skills Previous experience migrating Oracle (on-prem) to Terraform IaC,(cloud) AWS and Gitlab, Excellent Oracle performance Tuning and production issues and resolution AWS data stores such as DocumentDB , Postgress , Mysql (Arora) Oracle Goldengate and CI/CD pipeline Identity Service Engine – ISE – terraform skills with GitLab to automate infrastructure deployments to cloud (AWS)
