Customer Care and Infrastructure Boston Fully Remote **Deployment Engineer – US** **Objective of the Role** As a key senior technical role, the Deployment Engineer has a proven track record in designing, implementing and trouble-shooting technical solutions. The individual is customer facing with broad and deep technical skills, strong communication capabilities and a dynamic, pragmatic approach. In addition to owning the overall technical design of projects, the Deployment Engineer also acts as a subject matter expert, collaborating with other Deployment Architects, Technical Architects Deployment Technicians to provide consultative input to their projects. The Deployment Engineer is responsible for successful delivery of every project deployment phase, including design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting and handover to the customer, partners, and internal support. Deployment Engineers may also be required to provide assistance to the Pre-Sales team on occasion. Although the successful candidate may have gained the bulk of their experience in Telephony, they will be expected to gain experience of all aspects of Semafone deployments, expanding their knowledge to cover security, networking, applications, and cloud technologies.

  • *Responsibilities**
  • Receive high level requirements and high level designs from the pre-sales team, validate them and work with the client technical teams to progress through detailed design, thus owning the production of the Low-Level Design documentation
  • Accountable for ensuring that Semafones solution designs meet our clients current and future functional and non-functional needs
  • Specify and own the operational and technical requirements of each solution and ensure that the products architecture meets those targets whilst minimizing technical barriers to delivery
  • Designs include telephony architecture, network architecture and proposed CRM/Payment Gateway integration method/s
  • Participate, where required in the Semafone Design Authority forum and processes, which ensure design is holistically considered from an application, infrastructure, and operational support perspective
  • Gain in-depth understanding of Semafones entire product offering and associated architecture principles and standards to ensure repeatable, predictable, cost-effective quality solutions are delivered to customer and Semafones timescales, functional and financial expectations
  • Help extend and enhance the standard architecture for product delivery.
  • Be involved in and promote Semafones product strategy and drive forward internally and externally
  • Be actively involved in new product development, prototyping, and documenting new functionality, technical solutions and testing strategies
  • Become Semafone product subject matter experts (SMEs) fully experienced in deployment of all Semafone products/components carry out installation/deployment coaching and training to Semafone product support engineers, Deployment Technicians and external engineers within the Semafone Accredited Partner Program.
  • Support product and solution design documentation as required and requested
  • Engage with third parties to expand our technical horizons, staying in tune with the market trends and available technologies
  • Provide expertise to Semafone and our clients in PA DSS & PCI DSS compliance
  • Pre-sales support, webinars, conference calls and site visits as requested and required throughout the sales life cycle
  • *Skills and Knowledge – Essential**
  • 4 or more years of experience in architecting and delivering medium to large-scale network and telephony solutions
  • Strong communication skills and process management skills will enable you to drive our delivery process both internally and externally
  • Production of high-quality documentation
  • Any form of Linux whether it is Redhat, Ubuntu, Fedora, or Debian etc.
  • VOIP Infrastructure PBX, ACD, Session Border Controllers (SBC), Voice Gateways (i.e. Cisco ISRs), Soft Switches (i.e. Asterisk), Proxies, B2BUA, 3PCC, SIP Phones
  • VOIP protocols / codecs SIP, RTP, DTMF, RFC2833, G711, G729, etc.
  • Cloud technologies, specifically AWS deployment architectures
  • Automated software deployment tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible and Terraform
  • Network Protocols IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, NTP, IPSEC, LDAP, SSH
  • Securing network connections TLS, Certificates, VPN, firewalls
  • Web technologies Web servers (Tomcat/Nginx), JavaScript, HTML, iFrames,
  • Integrating to 3rd party Web applications, preferably to CRM systems
  • *Skills and Knowledge – Preferable**
  • Architecture of medium to large scale network and telephony implementations including input to solutions from major vendors (Avaya, Genesys, Cisco, Aspect, Interactive Intelligence, etc.)
  • Call Center technologies and applications CRM, Agent Desktop applications, Screenpops, softphones, CTI, backend integration
  • TDM technologies E1/T1, ISDN (Q.931 variants)
  • CTI integration TAPI, JTAPI, SIP based, agent desktop customization, soft phones, attached data, call event models, web services based CTI integration
  • IVR Vendors / Genesys GVP, Cisco CVP, Nortel MPS, Intervoice Brite, Voice Objects, Voxeo, Avaya, Nuance, etc.
  • IVR technologies VXML, CCXML, ASR, TTS
  • Predictive Dialer vendors & technologies (CTI integration / Noble)
  • Delivering PA DSS & PCI DSS solutions
