Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 + commission (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary

The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying targets to reach sales objectives and leading the sales process with the target to reach sales deliverables. Ensuring the companies profitable growth by developing and implementing strategies to attract new business.

The role has responsibility for Business Development and will be accountable for all Business Development activities. The Director of Business Development must develop, foster and maintain a teamwork atmosphere with a client focus for the Business Development department, coordinated with activities of all other departments at Foodbuy. This job requires a high degree of motivation, integrity and flexibility. A fundamental measure of success for the position will be meeting business development benchmarks and creating sustainable revenue.

Responsibilities:

+ Identify, design, develop and implement market-driven strategies to achieve sales goals and the Channels mission

+ Identify and implement opportunities to increase Foodbuy’s presence in the market

+ Sell into new business channels in the Foodservice Channel

+ Develop and maintain external relationships within the industry, professional organizations, etc. (public relations presence)

+ Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key Foodservice stakeholders

+ Collaborate with operations on all sales activities (e.g., opportunity analysis, complexity model and profitability)

+ Ensures Business Development has the tools, processes, skillsets and training to successfully perform sales activities

+ Leads the effective implementation, integration, and execution of organizational strategic and tactical plan initiatives for Business Development responsibilities

+ Represents the company professionally in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values

Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree or equivalent knowledge/work experience required

+ 6+ years in the foodservice industry

+ Prior GPO experience preferred

+ Proven leadership skills as a sales / business development professional

+ Demonstrated track record of building relationships with potential, new clients

+ Understanding of the complexities of the restaurant supply chain

+ Proven and verifiable history of developing deep relationships across all functional areas within organizations

+ Moderate level of business travel, 25 – 50%
