Core to the Data, AI and Genome Sciences (DAGS) function is an AI/ML-first approach to improving target and biomarker discovery, validation and selection and elucidating complex disease mechanisms. As Director of Data Science, AI/ML Platform Lead you Develop and architect a modular framework to align, integrate, develop, and deploy different AI/ML modeling approaches to streamline insight generation. You will be part of a cross-functional team of computational biologists, bioinformaticians, data scientists, software engineers, and machine learning engineers that strive to identify therapeutic targets. You will report to the Executive Director, Head of AI/ML Primary Responsibilities: + Develop and architect a modular framework to align, integrate, develop, and deploy different AI/ML modeling approaches to streamline insight generation. + Develop and architect a modular framework to align and integrate experimental data and ML/AI modeling results to facilitate wet-lab and dry-lab collaboration/integration. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and design data-driven framework for target discovery. + Utilize advanced statistical methods, develop machine learning models and methodologies to identify potential drug targets, leveraging large-scale omics data, images, and clinical information. + Develop methodologies to integrate and impute diverse datasets, including omics, images, and clinical information to uncover disease biology and novel drug targets. Required Experience and Skills: + PhD in quantitative field (computer science, math, physics, engineering) and 8+ years experience in developing and deploying ML/AI models and methodologies, including statistical methods, machine learning approaches such as variational autoencoder, probabilistic approaches, deep learning, and foundation models OR MS in quantitative or related field and 10+ years of experience OR BS and 14+ years of experience + Strong experience with Python libraries for data analysis (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) and machine learning (e.g. scikit-learn, PyTorch) + Experience with ML model life cycle, MLOps, and/or SDK development. + Experience with healthcare and life science data is a plus. + Interest in learning disease biology is a must, prior experience with healthcare and life science data is preferred. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary team. #EligibleforERP #DATASCIENCE2020 NOTICE FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS In accordance with Managers’ Policy – Job Posting and Employee Placement, all employees subject to this policy are required to have a minimum of twelve (12) months of service in current position prior to applying for open positions.
