Summary of Position We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Distribution Manager to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution network, managing relationships with multiple international printers, overseeing inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction with order fulfillment. The Distribution Manager will work remotely and is responsible for addressing logistical challenges, such as customs clearance and building maintenance issues. This role requires excellent communication skills, as it involves direct interaction with customers and coordination with a warehouse employee. Key Responsibilities + Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with multiple printing vendors across different countries to ensure product quality and timely delivery. + Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, ensuring efficient operation and cost control. + Customer Support: Serve as the primary contact for students and other customers with inquiries about order status, shipping, and delivery. Address and resolve any issues to maintain high customer satisfaction. + Customs and Compliance: Handle all aspects of customs clearance for international shipments, including troubleshooting and resolving any related issues. + Team Management: Supervise and support the warehouse staff member, including performance management and task delegation. + Event Coordination: Manage the printing and timely distribution of materials for events, coordinating closely with event planners to meet strict deadlines. + Facility Liaison: Act as the main point of contact with the building landlord for any issues related to the physical upkeep and maintenance of the facility. The facility is located in Beltsville, MD. Basic Qualifications + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, customers, and team members. + Proficiency in inventory management software and common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Preferred Qualifications + Experience in international shipping and customs regulations. + Previous remote work experience and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. + Experience managing cross-cultural relationships and working with international vendors and customers. + Proven track record in improving supply chain efficiency and cost reduction. + Experience with Odoo Inventory Management software. Reporting Relationships + This position reports directly to the Director of Courseware Management but also has a close working relationship with the Director of Operations. + Manages one warehouse employee. Work Environment + This is a fully remote position, allowing for work from home. + The role may require occasional travel to the warehouse or other sites for critical meetings or issues resolution. + Regular virtual meetings with the team and stakeholders are expected. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience.
