Reporting to the Manager of Applications Development the Full Stack Java Software Engineer III is part of a collaborative team responsible for the detailed design, documentation, development, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed applications supporting Availity’s Authorizations and Referrals applications. This team is currently working to convert the applications from AngularJS to React as well as working on custom payer implementations. This team will also begin their cloud migration in 2024. We anticipate this role to be ~70% backend and ~30% frontend development. Sponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position. Location: Remote US – Eastern/Central Time Zones Preferred Why work on this team: This team is working to convert their current applications from AngularJS to React This team will being migrating their application suite to the AWS in 2024 This is a highly collaborative and outgoing team with a passion for delivering quality code What you will be doing: Supporting, maintaining, and developing features for Availity’s Authorizations and Referrals applications Working on a team with 4 other Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts and a Product Owner Participating in daily stand ups at 10:30am ET Gathering technical requirements and designing efficient and performant solutions Providing input on programming or development standards Reviewing, consulting on and approving code written by other developers Implementing a backlog of items to fulfill a focused roadmap Maintaining and identifying technical debt Applying micro-service architectures Performing unit testing and complex debugging to ensure quality Ensuring your code is efficient, optimized, and performant Embracing continuous delivery and a DevOps environment Fostering a culture of continual learning Requirements: 4+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives Possesses a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks Java Javascript React Node.js Angular.js GraphQL SQL (Oracle & MySQL) Designs using micro-service architecture Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles Understands database design principles & query language Leverages Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, or similar tools for delivery Prior healthcare industry experience is a plus 278 transaction experience is a plus Experience with Microservices is a plus Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers is a plus Availity culture and benefits: Availity is a certified “Great Place to Work”, a “Best Workplaces for Technology Companies”, a “Best Workplaces for Women” and a “Best Workplaces for Millennials”!
