As a Google Cloud Architect at GXO Logistics, you will be playing a key role in supporting the migration of GXO’s on-prem Data Centers to Google Cloud solution (GCP, GCVE, & GCE) while ensuring the security and scalability of the solution. You will be applying best practices and experience to the creation of our cloud VPCs, moving towards Infrastructure as code solutions and developing FinOps to ensure efficient spend aligned to the correct business units. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Work directly with stakeholders to comprehend solutions and identify opportunities.
- Work with a team of application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative technology solutions using public cloud services.
- Collect and define technical requirements to enable business process and integrations.
- Establish an approximate level-of-effort and staffing requirements for complex development projects.
- Advise engineers and IT specialists to design effective, efficient, scalable, and secure applications within the organization’s Cloud software program.
- Ensure that solutions created by the development team adhere to technical architecture standards.
- Write and review codes while contributing to all technical discussions and architecture planning.
- Create and maintain process documents for Cloud operations in the organization.
- Be aware of emerging technology trends and promote an environment of learning.
- Monitor the production environment and advance the obtainable monitoring setup, as needed.
- Sustain performance and availability of production systems in the Google Public Cloud infrastructure to achieve optimal uptime.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent related work experience.
- 7 years of experience in designing, executing, and supporting IT Cloud solutions.
- Experience and/or certifications in Public Cloud solutions such as Google Cloud (GCP, GCVE, & GCE), Azure, AWS, etc.
- Strong understanding of best practices in IT server architecture and network security.
It’d be great if you also have:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
