The district of Hameln-Pyrmont is looking for an IT administrator for the IT Service Desk for its Office for Information Technology as soon as possible. The position is permanent and full-time.
The IT Service Desk is the point of contact for all employees of the district administration for questions and concerns relating to the IT used at the 700 IT workstations or with regard to the modern IT infrastructure. Quick solutions for incoming requests and a service-oriented approach are the declared aim of the Office for Information Technology. The employees at the IT Service Desk are the face of IT for customers. We are therefore looking for a new colleague with broad IT knowledge and enthusiasm to join the Service Desk team.
Your main tasks
- Accepting and evaluating user questions and faults in our ticket system and operating our telephone IT hotline
- Independent resolution of user questions and malfunctions as part of immediate solutions
- Responsibility for telephony and video conferencing in collaboration with service providers
- Implementation of training courses
- Installation and setup of hardware at the district administration sites
- Project work for the standardization of existing and introduction of new technologies and processes
Your profile
You bring with you
- Completed three years of IT training
- pronounced customer and solution-oriented thinking and acting
- Communication and teamwork skills, conscientiousness, independence and enthusiasm
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the Windows 10 or 11 operating system
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server
- ideally experience in working with Citrix and MS Teams
Initial professional experience in 1st level support (telephone support) and practical experience in IT are desirable.
If you are enthusiastic about these tasks and already have good IT skills, even if you have not completed professional IT training, you can apply. The prerequisite for this is your willingness to continue your professional training on a part-time basis in your free time and to take the external examination for the IT specialist in system integration at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce at a later date. During the training period, we will tailor the activities to your skills. Together with you, we will build up a solid training program and support you financially.
A class B driving license is required for field work. You are expected to provide your own private vehicle for business purposes. Any costs incurred will be reimbursed in accordance with travel expenses legislation.

Working conditions are based on the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD). Additional pension provision is provided by the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL).
One full-time position is available. The position is suitable for part-time work if it can be ensured that the position can be filled almost full-time.
