We are searching for a java software engineer

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw and you will join our Document Generation Team within Core Banking domain. The team of 14 consists of java and cobol software engineers, business analysts, QA, team architect and a scrum master reporting to the development manager. The team develops and maintains electronic and paper documents generation flows.

The Java software engineer role offers the possibility of being a central part of digital transformation from own cobol legacy systems to microservices, daily maintenance as well as secure and stable operations. Collaboration with a third-party vendor is also a part of the business life. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Kamil Zych.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

· Systems development based on Java skills including writing code, testing undertaking deployment, some support and documentation.

· Take responsibility for all development work (new features & correcting errors) with “we build it, we run it” attitude

· Monitoring and actively reacting to alerts and warnings

· Being an active team member and taking responsibility for developing and implementing IT solutions as well as new technologies.

· Stay up to date with new technology and teach other developers how to incorporate new trends

· Comply to Danish financial sector regulations and internal standards

To succeed you will have: 

· Strong knowledge and experience in Java 11+ and Spring Boot

· Experience with microservices

· Strong knowledge and experience with REST APIs Design & implementation

· Experience with event streaming technologies like Kafka

· Knowledge and experience in unit testing, code reviews, clean code etc.

· To be self-driven, proactive and don’t be shy to express your opinion

· To be adaptive towards change, curious to learn and understand the business objectives

· To be a team player with focus on working together as a team

· Analytical skills and ability to develop innovative solutions

· Strong written and verbal English communication skills (team is equally distributed in Denmark and Poland)

It’s nice-to-have:

· Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and a demonstrated ability to contribute to an agile development environment.

· Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman

· Familiarity with maven

· Familiarity with MSSQL
