About the Role:

The Infrastructure Security team collaborates with our Seattle-based Application Security team to secure the systems supporting our range of products and services.

As a Junior Security Engineer at Remitly, you will be reporting to the Security Manager in Poland and contributing to a collaborative product team.

Your team will secure AWS, EKS, K8s, and Istio production environments, which handle millions of transactions. Your role will involve daily management of application and engineering authorization updates.

You Will:

  • Implement security features and maintain existing security functionalities.
  • Support the AWS IAM access permissions system and address requests for updates
  • Working closely with team members to implement security concepts into product development and operations at a fast-growing technology company
  • Collaborate with our partner teams to address their requirements while incorporating security best practices.
  • Keep up to date with security tools and best practices to help the team’s continuous improvement and enhance your skills.
  • Maintain documentation for configuration settings, setup instructions, troubleshooting steps, and best practices to facilitate future deployments and support activities.

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of professional experience
  • Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud environment (ideally including AWS IAM knowledge).
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud Security concepts
  • Experience working with one of the popular programming languages (GoLang or Python preferred)
  • Willingness to learn and build expertise in the Security domain
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Polish
