Leads efforts aimed at meeting business intelligence objectives including information delivery and data analytics projects with the goal of empowering and enabling business users with actionable information. In addition to providing project and technical leadership, expectations may include leading teams of developers and analysts, working closely with business and IT partners, developing and maintaining best practices and architectural standards, as well as taking accountability of highly technical deliverables.
- Provides development and leadership in finding solutions to multiple, cross-disciplinary business intelligence, analytics, data visualization or data warehousing/data architecture projects.
- May lead teams of developers or analysts for either project efforts or recurring/ongoing support activities supported within the team, which may include personnel management activities.
- Leads the creation of solutions that provide accurate information quickly to the organization.
- Analyzes, Designs and builds reports, dashboards or other business intelligence components as needed.
- Responsible for development that may drive the creation of new data assets or information exchange to support the creation of decision support applications or business intelligence/analytics solutions.
- Work closely with other staff to identify levels of effort and task dependencies as assigned by team/organizational leaders.
- Coordinates efforts performed by project team members to ensure that all activities completed in order to achieve the desired outcome.
- Provides leadership regarding the creation of database tables, objects, assets and/or cubes utilizing commonly accepted methodologies and best practices for dimensional modeling and normal forms. Assists or leads the creation of data marts as needed.
- Leads efforts focused on ensuring business intelligence and analytics staff are appropriately trained on the use of supported technologies, as well as, in the overall design and development approach for organization efforts.
- Mentors and coaches staff in order to ensure adherence to standards and best practices within all development activities. Collaborates with other developers on the application of best practices and contributes to the evolution of standards aimed at improving scalability, performance and maintainability. Serves as the final arbiter on adoption of proposed standards for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Actively seeks new technologies, practices, and methodologies that will improve all aspects of business intelligence and advanced analytics.
- Proactively accepts accountability, generates and oversees deliverables, and works with cross-departmental teams to overcome impediments and ultimately deliver on time and on budget with a high degree of quality.
- Creates architecture and design solutions, reviews those of others, and manages the adherence to that road map.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative fashion, as part of a team, or independently, as the situation demands.
- Ability to exceed the vision set forth by product owners by leveraging advanced techniques and creative solutions for emerging business needs.
- Maintain communication with customers, internal and external, to ensure high levels of customer focus relating to business intelligence and analytics solutions.

Other Job Requirements Responsibilities 7+ years’ experience in business intelligence working with business or systems analysis and design concepts. A bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, analytics, computer and information sciences or similar is required. May substitute an additional three or more years of direct experience in business intelligence, data analytics or statistics in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Ability to write basic queries using standard query languages. Familiarity with both business analysis principles and project management methodologies. The ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies while considering the business needs and direction. Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools/environments with ability to learn new technologies quickly. Working knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, including various forms of data modeling (dimensional and relational) and warehousing strategies. Demonstrable proficiency in overseeing the definition or project scope and in managing small to midsize projects to completion on the delivery of the defined scope.
