Job Description Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a DevOps Senior Engineer in in our National Cloud and API Development Practice. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working CT and ET zones. As a DevOps Senior Engineer you will work closely with technical leads and developers of various teams to implement process improvements in various domains including: infrastructure-as-code (Terraform Enterprise) and Azure resource configuration. You will help implement DevOps related tools and processes within our client organizations. Candidates for the DevOps Sr. Engineer position typically major in computer science, or a computer related field, and have 7+ years of work experience in a related IT field. As a DevOps consultant you will work closely with technical leads and developers of various teams to implement process improvements in various domains including: infrastructure-as-code (Terraform Enterprise) and Azure resource configuration. You will help implement DevOps related tools and processes within our client organizations. Responsibilities Contributes to cloud native application and DevOps discovery, design and implementation Contributes technical leadership in defined areas of scope Supports architecture design and product team migrations to defined technologies and processes Collaborates with team to provide operational support and configuration for supported solutions Collaborates with team to develop and maintain Terraform scripts and Azure infrastructure definitions Investigates escalated support incidents relevant to scope of services Supports testing, operational issues and break/fix support Contributes to best practice, standardize and optimize initiatives Document solutions, findings and recommendations Follow direction from project leads to implement Azure platform requirements Interact and support cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release infrastructure definitions via Terraform automation Work with infrastructure as code (IaC) automation using support of client Azure based computing platform management. Demonstrate deep knowledge of Azure resource configuration, including networking, secrets protection, pass-through authentication, and Azure monitoring. Demonstrate knowledge in various DevOps domains (Agile, source control management, pipeline automation, CI/CD best practices, etc.) Implement Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new Azure/IaC solutions Build templates, workflows, proof-of-concepts for various infrastructure and networking use cases as directed Implement provided architectural solutions/designs in various DevOps disciplines Work with offshore team members as required as well as clients for resolving technical dependencies, issues, and risks Support common vision, practices, and capabilities across teams Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs. Qualifications MUST have current experience working in Azure and Azure DevOps and 7+ years overall experience Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert Certification -highly preferred Must have Gitlab experience building pipelines Hands on experience with Terrafrom (terraform cert is nice to have) IIS, on-prem experience is nice to have Gov cloud experience is nice to have Strong knowledge of DevOps domains including Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Deployment Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud computing, etc. Experience with general DevOps tooling (Git, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Python, etc.) Specific experience with Terraform Enterprise required (Terraform certification preferred) Specific experience with Azure resource management (Azure certification preferred) Strong experience with managing MicroSoft Azure cloud resources, particularly automation of resource instantiation/configuration, monitoring, and resource management. Strong understanding of infrastructure release and maintenance within a complex environment is required Minimum of 2 years of scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.) Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Flexible and adaptable attitude, disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments. The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $73,008 to $170,640.
