This is a Remote opportunity. The Linux focused System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring its operational efficiency, security, and reliability. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Linux focused System Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, primarily RedHat-based systems. Monitoring system performance and ensuring availability and security. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Implementing and managing system backups and disaster recovery plans. Managing user accounts and access control. Deploying and managing AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM). Collaborating with the development and operations teams to support infrastructure needs. Education and Clearance Requirement: Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; 4 years of experience can be in place of degree requirement. Minimum of 4 years of experience in System Administration, with a focus on Linux/RedHat systems. REQUIRES a minimum Interim Secret Clearance and eventually obtain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance. Required Skills and Competencies: Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and RedHat distributions. Ability to troubleshoot system issues and performance bottlenecks. Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation. Proficiency in Linux command-line interface and system administration tasks. Familiarity with network protocols and services. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet). Experience with server monitoring and log analysis tools. Strong knowledge of security best practices for system administration. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Desired Skills and Competencies: Experience with AWS services such as RDS, VPC, CloudFormation. Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL). Experience with server hardening and compliance standards. Understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management. Ability to obtain AWS certifications and enhance cloud expertise.
