As an Engineering Manager leading the Alert Evaluation, you’ll work with engineers that are in charge of a critical part of our Full Stack Observability products, as well as our unified dashboarding and data exploration strategy! Being an integral part of almost every line of New Relic business means we have a lot of internal customers, each with their own urgent needs. Balancing these needs while moving forward with our own initiatives takes finely tuned risk/reward analysis as well as a customer-focused attitude. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a passion for people to lead teams, coach engineers, and collaborate with multiple teams across the product organization! What you’ll do Own the team roadmaps, striking a balance between feature-forward work, maintaining reliable services and paying off technical debt Enable strong and nimble teams of engineers with the context, vision, skills and tools they need to succeed Lead and grow teams of software engineers that work on the performance and reliability of our streaming platform and systems Develop and iterate on processes and practices that keep your teams focused and executing efficiently Lead with a DevOps approach – we build and maintain our software, including taking turns being on-call, and tailoring our on-call alert policies to prevent pager-fatigue Ensure the success of Ingest and Streaming services and initiatives through the planning, design, and execution phases within and across teams and organizations Partner closely with product management, the group SRE leader, fellow engineering leaders, and key decision-makers to set up team priorities and roadmap Foster an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives thrive This role requires 2+ years of experience leading high-performing operationally focused software engineering teams Prior experience in a technical leadership role leading multiple roadmaps/backlogs Understanding of operating distributed data systems at scale Experience leading distributed teams with a variety of Software Development Life Cycles Involvement with operating Tier 1 production services Experience coaching and developing early-career engineers along with seasoned professionals Ability to collaborate within your own and across departments Experience managing remote teams across multiple countries & timezones. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
