Key Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records, patient charts, and other relevant clinical documents to accurately assign medical codes based on established clinical classification. Ensure the precision, completeness, and accuracy of coded medical information, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Adhere to all relevant coding guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards, safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality in all coding activities. Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other stakeholders to obtain clarification on medical documentation and ensure accurate coding results. Stay up-to-date with the latest coding updates, medical terminologies, and industry trends to maintain a high level of proficiency in clinical coding practices. Identify opportunities for clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and work closely with CDI specialists to enhance the quality and specificity of medical records. Efficiently manage coding tasks and meet productivity targets without compromising the quality and accuracy of coded data. Qualifications Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential or any relevant coding certification from recognized organizations. 2+ years of work experience as a medical coder. Solid clinical knowledge and the ability to interpret medical terminology and documentation. Familiarity with medical laws, regulations, and compliance guidelines. Proficient in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Attention to detail and analytical thinking for accurate coding. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with healthcare professionals.
