About the job Remote Data Entry Operator

We are looking for a data entry clerk to enter information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer literate and a fast typist with a good eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or other senior member of the data team. Knowledge of data confidentiality principles is mandatory.

Responsibilities

– Transfer data from paper formats to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners.

– Enter data provided directly by clients.

Create spreadsheets with large number of figures without errors.

– Verify data against source documents.

– Update existing data.

– Retrieve data from database or electronic files as requested.

– Perform periodic backups to ensure data preservation.

– Sort and organize documentation after data entry to ensure data is not lost.

Qualifications and Skills

– Proven experience as a data entry clerk.

– Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system strongly preferred.

– Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.).

– Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.

– Basic knowledge of databases.

– Good command of English, both oral and written, and customer service skills.

– Strong attention to detail.

– High school diploma or equivalent.
